I don’t know exactly when it started and where it came from, but I love to travel. As long as I remember I have had the travel bug, the desire to go to new and far away places and see new things.







For some people, travel is a necessary evil, for me when I don't travel for a while or I have no trips planned, I usually get a little edgy and feel better when the next trip(s) are planned and I go to my United account and see the next several trips in my itineraries.



For some people, a trip or vacation only starts when they get to their destination, for me, a trip starts when I pack my bag and close the door at home behind me. Actually a trip starts long before that, with booking and planning the trip and the anticipation of a new adventure about to start. Because that is what travel is for me: every trip is a new adventure, an opportunity to see new places or new things in old places; meet new people; explore new food and try old and new restaurants.



I love airports and train stations: the excitement of people, planes and trains going to different exotic destinations. Of course I have been lucky that I travel a lot and enjoy all the privileges that come with being a frequent traveler. I remember watching “Up in the Air” with George Clooney a couple of months ago in a plane coming back from Asia and laughing out loud as I so recognized it.

My love for travel and the fact that I have been fortunate enough to have jobs that allow me to travel, has given me the opportunity to visit many wonderful countries and places. Last month I was in New York and over dinner with some colleagues I was telling them some of my travel related stories. They told me I should really write them down and start a blog about them. I had already decided that I really should write down some of my experiences, my stories, my favorite restaurants so I can share it with other people. So that is how this blog started.

With Postcards I will try to share some of my favorite destinations, travel adventures and restaurant & food stories.
